Rotary Club of Clitheroe Young Artist Competition ‘Olympic Spirit’

Pupils from St Augustine’s took part in the Rotary Club, Young Artist Competition.  The standard of entries was extremely high with over 200 entries.  A presentation was held at Clitheroe Castle Museum on Friday, 3rd February together with an exhibition of a selection of the entries.


Pupils from St Augustine’s were highly commended for their work.
“the art evening showed lots of work, and other pupils interpretations of the Olympics. I am happy that my work was highly commended because I felt that I had put a lot of time and effort into it”.

Tate Gallery Visit

On Friday, 9th March, 33 pupils and staff visited the Tate Gallery in Liverpool. A Gallery visit is an essential part of the GCSE syllabus and this trip formed part of the pupil’s research gathering, leading up to their final GCSE timed exam piece.

Olympic Themed Sculpture Workshop

On Wednesday, 21st March, 25 Year 9 GCSE pupils took part in a Sculpture Workshop. The Workshop was lead by Philip Cox, a creator of paper people!. The theme was the Olympics. Our pupils created large scale sculptures of Olympic competitors.

“The day was a fantastic opportunity to work with a new artist to create something amazing”
