Welcome to ICT

The school is equipped with over 500 computers, all of which are networked.  There are 5 ICT suites, all equipped with the latest Windows XP technologies, flat screen monitors and air conditioning.

There are two other high tech ICT rooms, one in Technology and one in the Science community building.  The school also has 6 mobile laptop units, which are used constantly by pupils across the school.  We also have a laptop unit of Apple Mac books in the Art department, equipped with the latest image editing software. 

Throughout the school there are over 40 interactive whiteboards, which has meant the school has achieved a "School of Excellence" status in its use and provision of Promethean boards.  Staff from the school deliver training and advice to other schools in the area.

Key Stage 3

At Key Stage 3 pupils follow the National Stratergy for ICT.  Pupils develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of ICT and are bring these to other areas of the curriculum.

At Key Stage 4 we offer students the OCR National course, which is an online award that enables students to present their skills and abilities in a wide range of digital applications.

The ICT facilities are open at lunchtimes and after school for study and supervised internet access under our 100mb CLEO broadband connection.  The department works closely with with the Maths/Science/MFL colleges to provide learning opportunities for all.
